Why the Experts Like Them
2026 Week 7Final Edition
What this week's 14 experts said about the most mentioned players, in one place
Omar Cooper (NYJ WR) $10 Avg
Named by 11 of 14 experts
The week's most-named add. Cooper came off a four-game IR stint for a high ankle sprain and immediately led the Jets in targets, catches and yards: six grabs for 103 yards and a 48-yard touchdown, with a second score wiped out by a penalty. The usage impressed as much as the box score, a near full-time route share with snaps in the slot and out wide. The first-round rookie should hold the No. 2 role while Adonai Mitchell's finger keeps him out, and several experts call him a must-add and a three-receiver starter. The caution is what happens when Mitchell returns, and some see a boom-or-bust flex behind Garrett Wilson rather than a weekly WR2. The experts also split on Miami as a matchup: a favorable draw to some, while another notes it has allowed the second-fewest half-PPR points to receivers.
Kendre Miller (NO RB) $5 Avg
Named by 9 of 14 experts
A one-week volume play, and the experts are clear-eyed about it. With Travis Etienne Jr. on IR and Alvin Kamara nursing a back injury, Miller handled 20 carries and 22 touches against the Giants and led the Saints in snaps. Those touches produced only 70 yards, he is averaging 3.1 yards a carry, and he does almost nothing as a receiver, so the case is volume rather than talent. Kamara still scored and still takes the passing work, so the backfield is not Miller's alone. Pittsburgh is a tricky matchup, and after New Orleans' Week 8 bye Etienne becomes eligible to return. The consensus is to dabble rather than splurge: a flex for managers short at running back in a four-team bye week, not a long-term hold.
Germie Bernard (Pit WR) $26 Avg
Named by 8 of 14 experts
The hottest receiver on the wire, if he is still on it. With Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson out, the rookie caught 11 of 12 targets for 87 yards and the overtime winner at Tampa Bay, giving him 21 targets in two weeks. He ran 54 routes on Aaron Rodgers' 56 dropbacks, and his short, slot-heavy route tree suits a quarterback who rarely throws deep. He is rostered in about half of leagues, so several experts frame this as a check-your-wire add. The spending advice is the widest of the week: some say to go all in, while others stay modest and warn that 11 catches is not a weekly expectation. Most see at least a WR3 floor while the injuries last, some think he keeps the job when Pittsburgh gets healthy, and he is on bye in Week 8.
Ja'Kobi Lane (Bal WR) $8 Avg
Named by 8 of 14 experts
A rookie with buzz finally back on the field. Lane broke his wrist in the opener, returned Sunday with four catches for 40 yards on five targets from backup Tyler Huntley, and played just over half the snaps. Rashod Bateman's shoulder injury, plus trade rumors around him, opens a path to the No. 2 role behind Zay Flowers, and Lamar Jackson's expected return should lift the whole passing game ahead of potential shootouts with the Bengals, Bills and Jaguars. The experts disagree on how hard to push. The most bullish make him a priority claim on talent, camp reviews and the coaching staff's praise. Others treat him as a longer-term stash, noting that he lined up almost entirely outside and that Baltimore's passing volume beyond Flowers is thin, so shallow leagues should go easy.
Jonah Coleman (Den RB) $6 Avg
Named by 8 of 14 experts
A stash with a real path to the lead job. Coleman looked like Denver's best back in his only full game, scoring in Week 2 against a Jacksonville defense the experts rate among the league's best against the run, before a high ankle sprain landed him on IR. He is eligible to return this week, possibly against a much softer Arizona front. The opening is plain: J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are both averaging under 4.0 yards a carry, the offense has stalled, and Sean Payton has taken over play-calling. The experts agree on the upside but not the timing. Some expect him to inject life right away, while others say he is hard to start while Dobbins and Harvey are healthy and is best parked in an IR spot. Most treat him as a speculative, patient bid, with an easier second-half schedule as the payoff.
