Why the Experts Like Them
2026 Week 5Final Edition
What this week's 16 experts said about the most mentioned players, in one place
Keon Coleman (Buf WR) $10 Avg
Named by 14 of 16 experts
This week's breakout receiver, though the experts split on how much he is worth. After DJ Moore reaggravated his shoulder against New England, Coleman caught six of seven targets for 116 yards and a 34-yard fourth-quarter touchdown. He did the same in Week 2, the last time Moore left early, with six catches for 63 yards. He led Buffalo's receivers in snaps and ran a route on 77.8% of dropbacks. The open question is Moore. Some experts say his injury isn't expected to be long-term and Coleman goes back to the bench when Moore plays. Others expect Moore to miss multiple weeks. Most treat Coleman as a moderate add and a WR3 if Moore sits. One would spend aggressively, arguing that Josh Allen's offense keeps him useful even after Moore returns. Monday night's matchup with the Rams is no gift, since they just held Jalen Hurts to 93 passing yards.
Will Shipley (Phi RB) $10 Avg
Named by 13 of 16 experts
The running back this week's injuries created. Saquon Barkley left the Rams loss early with a hamstring injury. Tank Bigsby took over and then went down himself, and now needs core muscle surgery and a stint on injured reserve. That leaves Shipley as the last healthy back in Philadelphia. He played 47% of the snaps with six carries for 23 yards, ran more routes than Bigsby, and the experts like his pass-catching for PPR leagues. The size of the bid depends on Barkley, who is considered week-to-week: spend at the top of the range if he's ruled out, and more if you roster Barkley. The risks are real. The game in London is against a Jaguars defense allowing the fewest rushing yards in the league. Philadelphia could be missing six starters. A practice-squad back or an outside signing could take some of the work. Easier games against Carolina and Dallas follow.
Mike Gesicki (Cin TE) $3 Avg
Named by 11 of 16 experts
A cheap tight-end streamer whose value depends on Cincinnati's injured receivers. Gesicki has scored in three of four games and has 11 catches for 155 yards on 15 targets. With Ja'Marr Chase in concussion protocol, Tee Higgins dealing with an adductor injury and Andrei Iosivas on injured reserve, the experts see him as a possible top-10 tight end, and maybe Joe Burrow's top target, if both starters sit. The matchup helps. Miami has allowed four tight ends to score at least 9.2 PPR points and just gave up 13 catches for 119 yards to T.J. Hockenson. It's also a revenge game against his first team. The doubts are volume and playing time: fewer than four targets a game, a season-high 62% snap share, and a catchless Week 2. Without a touchdown, the floor is low.
Tyreek Hill (FA WR) $8 Avg
Named by 10 of 16 experts
A stash, not a starter, and the experts disagree more about him than anyone else on the list. Hill is unsigned and still recovering from the dislocated knee and torn ligaments he suffered in Week 4 last season, with a November return as the target. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is negotiating with multiple teams, and the Chiefs make the most sense after losing Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton on Sunday. A reunion with Patrick Mahomes is the upside, and the more bullish experts say to spend now before his price rises. The skeptics point to his own July comment that he had "no power" in the leg, the risk of another injury, an active Personal Conduct Policy review, and his 12.8 and 13.4 PPR points per game in 2024 and 2025. They recommend a modest bid at most.
Kirk Cousins (LV QB) $4 Avg
Named by 10 of 16 experts
A cheap streamer who keeps producing. Cousins has led the Raiders to a 3-1 start under Klint Kubiak and is tied for the league lead with 11 touchdown passes. He has thrown multiple touchdowns in every game and scored at least 19.8 fantasy points every week. Against Kansas City he threw 52 passes for 365 yards and two scores in a 30-27 loss, which showed the Raiders will lean on his arm. He doesn't run, and his four interceptions are tied for third-most in the league. New England, ninth-best at limiting fantasy quarterbacks, is a tougher test, and it's the Raiders' first outdoor game. Most experts see him as a bye-week fill-in and a two-quarterback starter. One calls him a low-end QB1, pointing to likely shootouts with Buffalo and the Rams next.
