Why the Experts Like Them
2026 Week 6Final Edition
What this week's 15 experts said about the most mentioned players, in one place
Germie Bernard (Pit WR) $8 Avg
Named by 13 of 15 experts
The week's most-named add. Michael Pittman Jr. is on injured reserve, Roman Wilson dislocated a finger and Ben Skowronek hurt his calf, so the Steelers rookie stepped in and caught six of nine targets for 80 yards in his first NFL start. He played 92.6 percent of the snaps, drew twice as many targets as DK Metcalf and ran a full route tree, not just slot screens. Aaron Rodgers is said to trust him after Bernard passed his weekly playbook quizzes, and Mike McCarthy has praised him too. The experts disagree on how long it lasts. Some see a full-time role whatever happens with Pittman. Others call him a flex whose value depends on Wilson's status. That split shows in the bids, which run from a modest claim to real budget.
Kendrick Bourne (Ari WR) $6 Avg
Named by 11 of 15 experts
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s trade to Houston is the case for Bourne. In Arizona's first game without him, Bourne led the team with 70 yards on five catches and eight targets. The experts don't agree on what changed. Several move him up to No. 2 receiver behind Michael Wilson, on a team that throws around 40 times a game. Others still rank him third, behind Trey McBride and Wilson. One points out that his slot-heavy role barely changed and that Jalen Brooks inherited Harrison's routes. His floor is shaky: he drew no targets in Week 4, and the Rams and Broncos come next. Most treat him as a depth piece for the bye weeks, though a few call him a priority add.
Pat Freiermuth (Pit TE) $5 Avg
Named by 11 of 15 experts
Touchdowns are driving this. Freiermuth caught two in the win over the Colts on a season-high seven targets, giving him four in five games, tied for the most among tight ends. He has yet to reach 50 yards in any game, so the experts call his floor modest but steady at nearly four catches a game. Pittsburgh's receiver injuries help: he lined up at receiver on 27 of his 41 snaps, and he is also used on quarterback sneaks near the goal line. Tampa Bay is generally rated a favorable matchup, with New Orleans and Cleveland after that. Most see him as a safe streamer with limited upside. One expert stands out by saying he should go straight into your lineup and bidding accordingly.
Brenton Strange (Jax TE) $4 Avg
Named by 10 of 15 experts
The case is volume. Strange has caught seven of eight targets in back-to-back games for 163 yards, after seven catches in his first three games combined. He ranks second on the Jaguars in targets for the season and first since Week 3, all with the full receiving corps healthy. That gives him a sturdier role than the injury-driven tight end adds. What holds the experts back is that he hasn't scored since Week 1, Houston has been stingy against tight ends, and Jacksonville has its bye in Week 7. A couple of experts call him a low-end TE1. Most see a PPR streamer with a steady floor and a limited ceiling, and treat him as a cheap pickup.
Dameon Pierce (Phi RB) $7 Avg
Named by 9 of 15 experts
Pierce is the last healthy running back in Philadelphia. Tank Bigsby is on injured reserve, Will Shipley partially tore his plantar fascia, and Saquon Barkley is still working back from a hamstring injury. Pierce was promoted from the practice squad and played 48 snaps in London, but managed only 14 yards on 11 carries behind a line missing a retired Lane Johnson and a traded Cam Jurgens. Carolina is the draw: the Panthers have allowed among the most fantasy points to running backs. Everything depends on Barkley, who is hopeful of returning this week. That is why the bids vary so much. Some experts would pay up for a likely starter in a bye-heavy week, while others say not to spend much unless you're desperate.
